In my opinion its better to rent a flat/villa where ever which ever city u like, If u plan to buy an apartment, say 40 lacs for a decent one then its better 2 park the same amount in FD which fetches u 11% pa, which gives u 4 lacs per annum (RS 33,333.33 per month), in this amount or may be less u can get a fantastic apartment / villa to stay & u can save some money tooo if the rent is bargained properly. Moreover u can change jobs to other places as u hav no attachments to ur home, enjoy the other places culture & diversity, instead of sticking to one place . Once u reach 40 plus then u can plan. This is my thinking & depends on individual mindset.
People who really want to be clver with their hard earned money should follow this. In fact, Mr Ganeshan Pooludaiyan is already doing this at Vizag. Eventhough he can afford to buy a flat at Vizag for a cost of around Rs.25 lakhs,He does not want to do so. Just staying in a rented beautiful apartment paying just Rs.3000/- per month, He have been saving a huge income. As Anil Kumar said rightly, Ganeshan Pooludaiyan have lot of options to stay, whereever he wants. Anilkumars idea is perfectly matching Ganeshan Pooludaiyan and he is not bothered about people, who criticise this one, because, he knows the value of money and am happy with whatever he am doing.
